It is already more than thirty years since the decade that marred the world with VHS tapes, CDs, and cordless phones. It was also during the 1990s that the internet was introduced. Nobody knew that it would explode and become a pillar of almost all our activities back then.

Friends and Seinfeld were the talks of our TV shows, grunge music was all we needed, and from them, we saw many different stars become famous. However, with time, they have faded off from the public eye. Do you ever wonder where they are and what they are doing today? If yes, this article will answer this question vividly.

1. Tiffani Thiessen

Tiffani was a heartthrob of many in the 90s. She starred as Kelly Kapowski on a popular TV show called “Saved By The Bell.” On another show, “Beverly Hill, 90210,” she starred as Valerie Malone.

Amazingly, Tiffani never stopped acting. She was featured on a Netflix show by the name Alexa & Katie. She has also worked on projects like White Collar and Fastlane.

2. Elizabeth Hurley

In the 90s, Elizabeth was an Estee Lauder spokeswoman, where she launched her career. She became prominent when she got linked to Hugh Grant. She later starred in Bedazzled and Austin Powers films.

Today, Hurley has not featured in significant shows since she separated from Hugh Grant. However, she has had a hand in Gossip Girl and The Royals shows. She also still does modelling.

3. Erika Eleniak

Erika first played a small role in ET film. The film was massive and propelled her to prominence. Later in 1989, she played a centerfold model in the Playboy show. She became famous after landing a role on Baywatch.

She never stopped acting, and recently, she has been working on films being aired on TV. Some of them include Chasers and Under Siege.

Debbe Dunning rose to fame while playing Heidi Keppert in a famous show called the “Tool Time” girl on sitcom Home Improvement. She did so from 1993 to 1999.

Debbe has continued to play supporting roles in other films even recently. Her acting career lasted 18years, from 1988 to 2006. However, her Home Improvement role remains the best.

5. Brandy Norwood

Brandy was among the most prominent figures in the 90s. Her album sold more than six million copies in 1993. On top of this, she was the title character in the sitcom Moesha.

She continued to release more albums since then. However, her 2012 album did not do so well. In 2020, she released yet another album. She is the ultimate example of longevity in the industry.

6. Sarah Michelle Gellar

If you talked about famous people in the 90s, you would be wrong not to mention Sarah Michelle Gellar. She played Buffy in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which did well.

Her career went to a halt upon the conclusion of Buffy the Vampire Slayer in 2003. She later ventured into business and now runs Foodstirs. The firm creates meal kits used by children.

7. Christina Applegate

She was a crush to many men when she played Kelly Bundy in a sitcom married. She also starred in Anchorman film as Veronica Corningtone.

She has still been gracing different films until recently. Some of these films include but are not limited to Hallp Pass, sitcom Friends, Bad Moms, Sitcom Samantha Who, and Anchorman Sequel.

8. Alyssa Milano

She began her acting profession at seven years old. She played a daughter to Tony Danza in the sitcom Who’s The Boss show. From 1998 to 2006, she starred in the Charmed TV show.

Today, Milano is still playing acting roles in different shows. She is also an activist who champions for the betterment of the things she believes should be improved.

9. Jennifer Love Hewitt

Disney Channel is the one that launched Hewitt’s career. As a starter, she could appear in commercials. Later on, she landed a role in the Kids Incorporated show. She also appeared in Party of Five and became a star upon appearing in I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Hewitt has continued to appear in TV shows all her life. Shows like The Client List and Ghost Whisperer

10. Lori Loughlin

She became famous when she played lovable Aunt Becky on Full House. This show launched her career and others like Bod Saget and John Stamos.

Loughlin has since then starred in different TV shows and films. One among those is 90201, which was the reboot of the ideal TV show. She also starred in When Calls the Heart. She also still holds her role in Fuller house.

11. Fran Drescher

During her appearance on The Nanny show as Fran Fine, Drescher got the attention of many people. Besides this show, she was in films like This Is Spinal Tap and Saturday Night Fever.

Drescher has continued to play the same role she played on The Nanny show in other shows like Happily Divorced and Living with Fran. She was also a part of a film called Hotel Transylvania.

12. Heather Locklear

Her career started when she was studying at UCLA. She booked acting and modeling works and landed a role on TJ Hooker TV show. Later on, she appeared in Spin City and Melrose Place shows

After the cancellation of Spin City in 2003, Locklear put her acting on hold. However, she has supported shows such as Frankling & Bash and Hot in Cleveland.

13. Eliza Dushku

Today, she directs America’s Next Top Model TV show, which has had more than twenty seasons. She is also a writer and hosts a talk show.

Silverstone is mainly associated with her role in Clueless film, a hit in the 90s. She was also part of The Crush film, which enhanced her role in two music videos for Aerosmith.

Nowadays, Silverstone has stayed low-key and works with independent production companies. She has appeared in the Babysitters Club Netflix series and played herself in a comedy show called Tropic Thunder.

Carrere has continued to pursue her acting career even today. She has appeared in a Netflix show called AJ and the Queen. She did voice work in Duck Dodgers and Lilo & Stitch.

Carey was one of the most famous and successful musicians of the 90’s. Most hit songs, including “Always Be My Baby, Without You, and Hero” that she did in the 90’s are still relevant today.

Even though she is not as famous today as then, Carey continued to sing. She released some albums, but they have not been doing so well.

She was a co-host of the famous show called Candid Camera. She was well known because of her quote, “Smile, you are on Candid Camera.” She was also featured in All My Children soap opera as Dr. Maria Santos Grey.

Recently, Eva LaRue has played a detective role in CSI: Miami from 2005 to 2012. She also maintained the same role in All My Children until 2011.

Nowadays, Elizabeth still does acting but has diverted most of her focus to activism. She also runs an organization called Animal Adventures that is in South Africa.

Moore has had a successful career as far as acting is concerned. At one time, she was the highest-paid actress.

Later, the fame overwhelmed her, and she had a terrible career breakdown. However, she has since recovered and has continued to release more music albums.

Today, she runs her cosmetics business which she launched in 2000 after retiring from modelling. She also designs furniture. She also coaches her daughter, who is a successful model.

She utilized the fame from the TV series and launched her swimwear collection. However, she struggled with substance abuse. Something that affected her career negatively.

She started her music career in 1993. This was after she met with Prince, who helped produce her music. She also ventured into glamour modelling, whereby she appeared in Playboy severally.

Recently, Electra has appeared in TV shows as a guest star. She also had relationships with other celebrities, including Dennis Rodman and music icon Dave Navarro.

Today Pamela is an activist who champions for the betterment of animals. She also promotes a vegan lifestyle.
